ORANGE + LIGHT BLUE: IS IT FOR YOU?

A color combo I really have ever given little attention to is orange and pastel blue. But, it had certainly caught my eye today! There is such an interesting dichotomy between the rich orange, and the light and refreshing blue. Not to mention... it seems you could style the room in just about any fashion with this combo...

A SUNNY ESCAPE

I think its all the subtle touches that really make this room. The blinds are pretty in and of themselves, and I love the well organized gallery wall behind the bright white sofa...

WALLPAPER MADNESS

Remember Monday when I had some exciting news to share... well I do, Im finally getting internet in my new apartment tomorrow... ok kidding (I am, but thats not the exciting news).
I have been contacted to participate in a little project.. but before I share too much, I need some help.

They came over the other day and took this photo in the only somewhat clean corner of my apartment which I had moved into 2 days previous, and sans makeup (please don't look too closely, its really not pretty) annnnddd... excuse my mid-process table I happen to be leaning against...

But seriously... I need your opinions, if you have some, as to which of the following wallpaper you like?
keep in mind... except for the black and white prints... the colors are most likely not the colors that would be chosen...

TOMMY TAKES IT OVER THE TOP

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend... I'm so excited to be back in full force this week!
I also have some exciting news to share later today...

Tommy Hilfiger and his wife Dee recently completed their apartment at one of my all time favorite buildings, and New York institution... The Plaza. Love, love, love the architecture of the building, and the Hilfiger's completely did it justice with their grandiose yet fun flared choices.

the colors and fabrics seemlessly fit together...

and each room is more flawless than the next...

RELAXED TRADITIONALISM

I have to be honest, this week has been INSANE! and I just haven't had the time to put into putting a post together, which I am really bumming about. But... this gorgeous room I wanted to share. These eclectic elements are effortlessly put together to create a Northern East Coast cottage that is something I can only dream for...

WHO'S THE PRETTIEST OF THEM ALL?

This is just such a pretty little vignette. Gold has really struck my fancy lately. Especially with gray.

IKAT ON THE FLOOR

My parents are making a big move in a few short weeks. I have been helping my mom along the way in designing her new house. And... she wants this rug from ABC SO badly....

We've both agreed that $4,000 could probably be better spent, so I have been on the hunt for a great alternative...

I think this one from CB2 may just fit the bill, if I can find it on Ebay since its from last fall...

what do you guys think? splurge or settle for an alternative like this rug or some ikat chairs?

HAPPY (to be home) SUNDAY!

This weekend, M and I went on a little camping adventure with some friends. It was part of a little town's summer festival, and was certainly interesting, (think snowmobiles driving around on water... WHAT!) .. and it rained...
I think it may have been a little better if only I looked this chic...

I hope your weekend was lovely and exciting...

A VERY HAPPY MIX

This summer... bungalows, farmhouses, and cottages have been whats on my radar. They are so quaint and sunshiney!

Whitewashed everything + the pink and green combo = summery perfection!  The owner of this adorable bungalow has managed to make the pink and green color combo in this room a very happy mix and not overly feminine.

the quirky touches here are endless, and definitely pieces that make this house a home.

a pink fridge + an oversize "keep calm" poster... yes please!

A PASSION FOR PURPLE

I feel like I have posted quite a few purple rooms this spring/summer, and while I never considered myself a purple person, maybe I love it more than I ever let on...

This month's issue of House Beautiful is better than walking into the most fun candy store you have ever seen. It is seriously jam packed with colorful goodness.

These purple rooms are just the perfect shade. And while their not completely deep and dark, they certainly have soul

SIMPLY BORDERED + CLASSIC

I'm loving these simply bordered curtains...

It would be easy to transform any curtain with a variety of simply colored ribbons...

There are classic, and add a touch of color to any space.

SEEING RED

I have always admired Alessandra Branca's work. It's daring, its individual, and nothing short of fabulous...

I don't know what to love more, the piping on the sofa, the red and brown toile covered chairs, or the tufted ottoman?

greek key lining in the curtains... yes please!

piping and classic white bedding... what's not to love?
