A SCHOOLHOUSE STAPLE

Chalkboards aren't just for school houses, or little kid easels anymore...
They are a fun addition to a variety of design schemes, especially in the kitchen. A few months back a did a little DIY project and made my own. Since then, it has moved with me, and become a staple in my kitchen. Recently, after investing in some chalkboard markers... I learned the real value they have [the markers are so much smoother and prettier in color than chalk!]... I write a menu when guests come over, notes to my man before I run out the door...they have so many uses...

QUIRKY + FUN IN TORONTO

Tommy Smythe is the lucky sidekick to Canadian HGTV maven Sarah Richardson. He is also a master at creating stylish and eclectic vignettes...

The spaces in his home exude masculinity without being overboard, and somehow he creates total eclecticism that feels cohesive and put together.

the natural elements placed around his Tommy's apartment certainly bring it down to earth, while the sparkling finishes polish it off...

and I simply adore these pony print wingbacks...

INTRODUCING THE L+L WEBSITE!

I rarely speak on this blog about what I do for my "day job". And... while every day is something different, I'm really excited to share what is truly a passion of mine. I think we have all become more aware of the brand that is ourselves. Sometimes it's hard to get all of the details in line and perfectly fine tuned. Thats where I come in. I do what I like to call "LifeStyling". Whether a client simply needs a few outfits picked out,  all of their spaces redefined and designed,  a logo that exudes who they are, or a website... I can make their creative dreams come to life!

After hours of hard-work, I am excited to debut two websites!
Visit my website and tell me what you think! I would love to hear your comments and suggestions!

Second, my most recent client is Dana Alpeter of Dana Alpeter Interiors. Her website was so fun to make because I truly feel [as does she] that it is evocative of her contemporary and clean design style.
You may know her work as seen from her stunning home below...

and while these bright interiors are eye catching and fun...
she also has some soft and really pretty palettes

If you are looking for some help branding your image, creating a website, or decorating you home, please contact me for more information. I offer most of my services over the internet as well!

CLASSIC EQUESTRIAN CHIC

Fall up north always ushers back in the classic styles that Ralph Lauren has made so famous over the years. The crisp lines, perfect attention to detail, and a here and there touches of elegance inspire everything from fashion, to interiors, to the way we entertain...

these equestrian inspired interiors and warm and inviting, they don't have to be stuffy...
think classic colors and elements, with contemporary flair

subtle animal print touches mixed with designer elements known for their classic roots...

touches of white and silver against deep walls, and a few hints of the outdoors...

monogramming, linen, and leather...

a well stocked and perfectly appointed bar tray is an absolute must for an after polo swig of whisky...

and clean white flowers to keep the room clean and fresh...

a few staple elements in classic equestrian chic design...
tufted (specifically a gorgeous leather sofa that looks like it could have been handed down from your great grandparents!) and a soft fur throw to drape over the arm, a faux croc skin bar tray with a lovely crystal scotch or whisky set, a classic painting (think dogs, horses, relatives...) ornately framed, a simple but elegant chandelier, fun coffee table lookbooks, and a pretty set of boots to sit by the front door (because you just returned from riding your horse, right?).

FLAWLESS FUSION

One is black. One is white. One is classic. One is eclectic.
To me, they have strikingly similar elements...
Elements I am dying to emulate. I just adore the deep dark black and gray for fall. But, with the addition of mercury silver colored (or mirrored)things, animal prints, fur, crisp and classic white touches, and natural touches here and there... there is so much to drool over...

A HINT OF GOLD

A little fleck of gold can instantly warm up any room...

no matter how small it may be...

it can even serve as the burst of color...

a little gold is certainly luxurious...
