As some of you may know, I recently started a little re-decorating of my living room. Out with the old, in with the new- a little project that feeds my need to spring clean. A great idea in theory, sometimes its hard to break out of the mold of the definitive design you originally chose, like red, purple, and stripes for example.
In an effort to usher in a design that's slightly less bold and a little bit more soft paletted- I'm thinking a flowy, no fuss skirt on a sidetable might be a great way to do away with some of those hard lines and bolder color choices...
A skirted table seems to give a room an instant feel of comfort...
and while I have something basic in mind, more structure skirts look great and can easily be a DIY project, like this one from little green notebook!

I tried this once and it looked messy :/ these all look so chic!
ReplyDeletePS. got your e-mail; I will write back today :)
I love the idea of a skirted table. I've been talking about doing one for two years now. I'm obsessed with the hidden storage factor they create. And what an inexpensive way to add a dose of a pretty fabric to a space. Much cheaper than reupholstery!
ReplyDeleteLove the look. And love the gold lamp in the last picture.

My cat calls my skirted table home. Just make sure that its anchored down nicely if you have feline friends.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how to fit the squared off ones with really sharp pleats? Mine always end up looking wavy all over the place.
The black and white choice is so elegant. Hmm you're giving me ideas...

Keely,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your insightful advice. Trust me, I needed it. We have such a love/hate relationship. Sometimes I feel like we actually enjoy fighting! So immature.
Hope all is well. My twitter is pinkmascara10, by the way. Thank you for being a fabulous sponsee!
