When I told Marc that I was planning to lean our new super tall bathroom mirrors against the wall instead of hanging them, he looked at me with that "You can't be serious" look. I am in fact - completely serious. I've seen leaning photos, art, and mirrors in unexpected places lately, and I like the easy and relaxed feel.
Are you more of a hang them up right away, or let them linger leaned against something for a while and maybe let them stay kind of person?
I completely agree. Leaning makes it so much more relaxed feeling. That's what I did with my giant Resto mirror. It would've looked to formal otherwise. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteAhh! Mine have been "lingering" against the wall for over a year...eventually I will get them up ;)
ReplyDeleteHa, yes my entryway mirror was a leaner the entire time we lives in our house in Pawleys and for the first six months in Richmond. Only bc I was too lazy to buy proper nails for a heavy mirror. Ha! It's only hanging now bc i. Over it to the dining room on a wall with nothing to set it on!
ReplyDeleteLove that inspirations ♥
ReplyDeletesuch a great look!
ReplyDeleteI loved the leaned look as well, but I don't think my boyfriend would go along with it. Plus if you rent, there is no better choice!
ReplyDeletei have a large painting of a crouching tiger in a jungle, which i gleaned from a garbage.... it leans from atop one of my bureaus and looks great!

This is great news for me since I have pictures leaning on the floor of my hallway and the nursery that we haven't hung yet.
ReplyDeleteI too have wanted to lean pictures. Thank you for these inspiring pics, I will sit and ponder for a bit. What a beautiful space you have created here, thank you so much for sharing. I will follow on my way out so I know my path back here. Perhaps you will find the time to come visit me soon and do the same. I look forward to engaging more throughout the year and beyond. Take care. Cheers SpecialK XoXo
ReplyDeleteI think I like both! Maybe I let them stay awhile because I can't make up my mind on where to hang them!
ReplyDeleteThat last room is so stunning! I love the dimension it adds :)

Leaning all the way, especially for tall mirrors!
ReplyDeleteI like leaning pictures on furniture or mantels, but having them along the floor makes me nervous. I feel like it's one misstep away from broken glass or damaged art... or maybe I'm just biased because I have a 60 lb dog running around as I type :)
