Wander Over Wednesday

                                                        ... to BluLabel Bungalow

And meet Erika, a woman who is endlessly stylish, and I admire her design talents the very most!

My dream office looks like...
What I love most about my city: My favorite thing about Atlanta is the fact that though it is an international city, it still maintains its southern charm. There's nothing like southern hospitality and I recognize its absence when I am visiting other cities.  There is a endearing warmth about Southerners, it's like you're perfect strangers waiting to be old friends.

What do you love most about your day? I love the fact that I adore my work and can be available to my husband and children whenever they need me. When I worked in the corporate world the pay was great, but I was miserable.  I longed for the day to have the freedom to pursue my bliss.  My husband made that possible for me... bless him. I vowed that I would do whatever I needed to do so I would never have to return to the rat race.

What is your favorite color palette?  This is a hard question! It's like asking me who is my favorite child... I suppose you can never go wrong with layering neutral tones like in these photos.  After a long day of looking at paint and fabric swatches, it's nice to have something subtle to rest your eyes upon.

When I'm not blogging I am... Decorating my own home and clients' homes, running around with my three kids, socializing around and about Atlanta, or spending time with my husband. The list of activities can change on a weekly basis. Sometimes I wonder how I do it all.

What is your favorite space in your house?  My home office.  My library would sound more sophisticated. It's a space I can call my own.  I work there, relax there, and of course watch my neighborhood from the window.  I'm that nosy neighbor you love/hate.

What are your five favorite things RIGHT now?
1. Sweet Tea

2. My Silly Kids

3. ManiPedis

4. Having informal bbqs with my neighbors

5. Hanging out with my Besties.

ERIKA'S THREE GREAT DESIGN TIPS

LOOK AT YOUR HOMES EXTERIOR TO GET IDEAS ON COMPLETING THE INTERIOR
For example, if you life in a cedar wood home, consider using rustic decor elements in your home. Like in the photo below. I love a well thought our design where the exterior of a home flows into the interior.

TRUST YOURSELF
How often have you gone against your initial design inspiration only to return to it after you've spent time and money because you "changed your mind" or someone else told you the didn't like it. And if you really need it, don't be afraid to contact a professional...hint, hint.

ACCEPT THE FACT YOUR NEVER DONE
Often times our tastes changes as we mature. For example, When I graduated from college 10 years ago, I preferred very contemporary furnishings.  My decor consisted of light colored leather, chrome accent tables, and blond woods.  Now my taste is more on the traditional side of contemporary with a rustic mix... well at least for now.  Targeting one style is difficult because i have an appreciation for all design style.  I tend to change up every few years.

Thanks Erika!
