DERBY DAY

I am not an equestrian, and have never been to the Kentucky Derby... but I am enamored with the southern charm of it all. I love the outfits, the big hair, and the famous drink of the day... the mint julep! It all culminates to become a one of a kind event!

So, in honor of the derby today, I thought I would share with a  drink that has just as much style as the traditional glass it's served it... skinny style! Bethenny Frankel's book "Naturally Thin" is one I read and adored, and has opened my eyes to great beverage choices that won't go straight to the stomach... thighs.. wherever. I couldn't find the exact recipe, so here is one adapted from the Skinny Girl Mint Julep!

But the skinny girl julep has no Kentucky Bourbon! Is that legal? :)
