FEELING FALL

Call me crazy, but I always feel like fall is the time to add a little more to our living spaces, making them cozier, warmer, and slightly more lived in ( for those of us in the north, our homes are about to become a lot more lived in!) As well as adding a few things here and there, fireplaces are always set aglow beginning around this time, and that perfect ambiance we always think of this time of year.

Here are 3 quick and easy tips for  adding some warmth and seasonal glow to your home:

Candles: Add them where you can in small arrangements in odd numbers (like flowers). They will add  a new texture to the room, not to mention a whole new ambiance.

Textures: What are textures that say warm to you? Fur, velvet... even beige linen. Add some richer accents that compliment your existing color palette in the form of pillows, blankets, curtains, or new chair covers. These touches are easy to change in and out with the seasons.

Filling Open Spaces: If you have open spaces like tables, or a mantle, dress them up with some decorative pieces. These things don't need to be seasonal, just some things you like. Add books, candle and flower arrangements (think about branches instead of bright summer flowers) Set framed pictures into these vignettes or create a small gallery wall on a usually baron wall.
