My Very Own Pair of Stripes

I have been so excited about our new place, and finally some things have gotten together that I can share. My most exciting find for our new place was these chairs. Brace yourselves, I got the set for $140. The guy who sold them to me from Craigslist told me that they were "hand-me-downs" from his parents and that he didn't like the fact that they were pink so he was getting rid of them. Needless to say, I think his parents might kill him. They are BEAUTIFULLY crafted with diamond tufting and nailhead... if you are able to see past the pink velvet, you can see just what a steal they are!

While I love every element of the chair, I wanted something versatile, that I can change from place to place, and a slipcover is perfect for that! I found this awesome seamstress who can sew ANYTHING! ( It is super hard to find someone to do slipcovers, if you want her info, email me) After picking out this bold striped fabric (maybe you remember this weeks earlier obsession with black and white) .. she turned them into this! The perfect dynamic pieces for my new space!

I like the stripes, but the diamond tufting and the nailhead trim changes everything and by covering it up you hide the best details of those chairs. I suggest you paint the legs black high gloss and add a pillow to make them modern and they will play off your stripe sofa better!!!! ksiddiq
