WACIPI WONDER

Over the weekend we went to a Wacipi [Pow Wow] on one of the local Native American Reservations. It was absolutely incredible. The local Tribe holds the celebration once a year, and many tribe members from all over the midwest come and participate. The intricate beading, the amazing feather and fur detail, and the beautiful dancing was inspiring. To think of the hours that their community spent making their traditional dresses was unbelievable...

WACIPI WONDER

Such a beautiful image! Yes, I have been. My cousins are Navajo so I had an opportunity to attend one once. It was amazing! Although I did get in trouble for snapping a few photos of the crown dancers! opps. Totally worth it!
