LOVING LONNY: SETTING THE TABLE

I'm still giddy with excitement over this issue of Lonny. Its absolutely jam packed with stunning spaces and ideas. What especially caught my eye were all the fabulously styled tables...

Starting with this one. M and I and HUGE backgammon fanatics. Its one of our favorite ways to pass time on long summer evenings - this table is amazing, something we definitely need one day!

The mix of glamour, colorful simplicity, and manly chic is abounding in this issue. The juxtapositions keep every turn of the page fresh and exciting..

OUR FAVORITE ONLINE MAGAZINES

...now can be accessed from one place!

I am always trying to make luxe + lillies more "inspiration friendly".  In addition to some of the other resources on my far right sidebar, I have now added one solely for all of the fabulous online glossies we love to read over and over. With six (wow!) new publications in the last year alone, it can be easy to forget about one or the other from time to time. Hopefully you will find this function of my blog helpful when you are looking to peruse online!

Happy Reading!

If I am forgetting one, or you know of a new one starting up, I would be happy to add it, please comment or send me an email!

LOVING LONNY

... and Lulu de Kwiatkowski's chic and easy living home.

I'll set aside my dream destination of Capri and the gorgeous J.K. Place hotel for another day, and feature this stunning, relaxing, and lovable southern California home...

the lucite side table/desk is truly a dream, and the silver bin truly polishes it off.

the quirky and juxtaposed art totally makes this place. it is so different from room to room, from wall to wall, really, but is absolutely evocative of the families clearly creative style.

the way that de kwiatkowski has used pieces from every era is design is truly the best feature. she effortlessly combines modern and contemporary with classic, mid-century, victorian, and even rustic.

A SIDE OF CHAIR

Apparently in the last 24 hours, I have developed an affinity for things "on the side".  This little chair obsession has been going on however, for a few days now. These eclectic and cute chairs are the perfect little space fillers, side tables, and opportunity to add some more texture and pattern into the room...

aren't they all so perfect!?

DRAPED SIDETABLES

Looking through the Lonny archives, its easy to come across rooms and spaces you fall in love with all over again. For me, this is one of them. I have kind of had a think with fabric draped/skirted side tables lately...  its sweeter, softer... and adds a pinch of elegance!

LOVING LONNY: THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE

If you haven't already caught on... Hi, my name is Keely and I'm addicted to white furniture. Vicente Wolfe's living room in his Montauk hideaway caught my eye from page one... just look at this gorgeous room... couldn't you sink right in?

Always a sucker for the round library table with sweet benches, Cath Kidson's eclectic and quirky library is sophisticated and fun.  And P.S. I can't wait for John Derian's line to debut at Target in September... how great are these coasters!

Ryan Korban... how my love affair never fades. This Union Square apartment was no different... simply lovely.

And finally... a few stunning galleries...
My heart was still when I first saw the pictures of "Flair". The place is just simply to die for. This gallery wall however, is truly one of the piece's de resistance! The deep and moody dark walls with the roman statue photography... so different, so bold!

GAGA FOR GARDEN STOOLS

The garden stool trend has been around for some time now, but, even though I thought they were so cute, and often chic, I just never really got on board. However, after seeing that perfectly placed mint green stool in the black bathroom featured in Lonny this month, I am SO on board! There is a fabulous array of styles to fit any space, and I am just convinced they are a great finishing touch.

p.s. I've been working on the layout in an effort to give you all bigger pictures, is it better?

LOVING LONNY

This issue of Lonny was as always oozing with design goodness. I think this might just be my favorite issue! I am so in love with the idea that there is something new to love so wholly and completely after the loss of Domino. Because everyone generally features their favorite rooms from Lonny, I'm going to feature my favorite accents that were present throughout the entire issue...

The dark accent walls seen in a few different rooms are flawless and beautiful. They really create a warmth that is unmatched. The quirky accents were equally as fun. This little rhinoceros head, as well as the nest egg in the beginning of the magazines were lovely little things that make a house home.

This pendant lamp I featured a few months ago is from ikea. It's simple and beautiful. And at $90, you can make it yours, today! The glass jars in the bathroom here are filled with shells, but I think I would fill mine with soaps, lotions, candles, perfumes... and other little things I find a long the way. Pure fun!

I just drooled over the stunning white classic bedding with soft accent colors, the rich (not necessarily bright) color pops, as well as the textures and patterns that were mixed. Those towels are to die for!

Inspired by Nature

For a while now, the rustic woods, organic lines, and soft textures of Restoration Hardware have been inspiring my aspirations of what our next home will look like.  I'm not quite sure how I missed this great article in Lonny's 2nd issue about a Manhattan apartment designed by Brad Ford. Its absolutely breathtaking. Light and airy, yet cozy and chic, I thought it had to be somewhere out in a beautiful pasture in Provence, but, I was wrong, it is all in the middle of the city. I think next time I need to settle my excitement down a little bit, and look a little closer through my Lonny Lenses...

all the different textures are so yummy. you don't even realize the stark white walls!

I think this salt and pepper contraption would bring my cool factor up 100 points. There is just no outdoing it in my mind...

Lonny Mag: 4th Edition

This 4th issue of Lonny was packed with design and product goodness as always, but to be completely honest, when I got to the end this time, I definitely thought there would be more. Despite the slight let-down I felt by this issue, there were still some fabulous spaces. I've chosen a few things for now and a few for later (think take it on tuesday, and possibly an inspiration board!)

I think the was my favorite little space. The warm walls, the worn wood, the inviting chairs in bright white, and the dainty little tea table. Perfection!

there is a simplistic draw to this room. Sometimes I feel like its missing something, and other times I am drawn to the cleanliness of the space and use of different period pieces of furniture. I think its those classic louis chairs with the great striped fabric that pulls the room together!

Last summer in the south of france, I walked into a little shop that had this gorgeous silverware set that were wall stickers. I excitedly bought them dreaming of where I would put them when I got home, and they still remain in their transport canister. This photo reminded me so much of those stickers, and is great inspiration on how to jazz up a little butler pantry or galley kitchen.

I've been in love with this rug since I saw it in Nate Berkus' home for Elle Decor, and subsequently discovering it at Ikea. I love what it adds to the entire overall space, but I'm sure it really jazzes up that entryway!

this bedroom doesn't really suit my personal style (I feel its a bit awkward and lacking some everyday comforts), but there is no denying the sheer beauty of the space, I think what I'm drawn to is that fireplace, it brings an element of warmth unlike anything else to this room... what do you think?

Finally, this little bedside table was so sweet and quirky, and not to mention houses a fabulous collection of books.

What did you think of this issue?

I Love... Ryan Korban

I have been obsessed with the immensely talented Ryan Korban since he was featured in the third issue of Lonny Magazine.  There is just one word for his interiors... sexy. I love the wide range of textures, the extremely subtly pops of color, and best of all the coziness of each and every room.  I just don't have any other words for all the fabulous elements other than, I LOVE!
