WANDER OVER WEDNESDAY

                                                    ...to Bright.Bazaar

and meet will Will! the stylish, sweet, and funny GUY behind Bright.Bazaar, a blog with wonderfully eclectic mixes of interiors.

My dream office looks like...
Lots of storage, a huge window with a desk looking out over the view and
a stylish rug.

What do you love most during your day?
The serenity of dawn, a mug of hot coffee and a quick catch up on the news is
my favourite way to start the day.

What is your favourite space in your house?
I'm currently moving, so anywhere I'm not surrounded by boxes! I really like setting
the table for a long, drawn out breakfast, especially in winter.
So, I guess the kitchen is my favourite space.

What is your favourite thing about your city?
All the lovely parks; I love being in the middle of a city but being surrounded
by green, open spaces because it's the best of both worlds.

My favourite colour palette is...
I'm a big fan of brights, but at the moment my fave has to be yellow; there is
something so uplifting about it.

When i'm not blogging, I am...
Shopping, swimming, or sleeping!

What are five of your favourite things RIGHT now?
1. Olives

2. Shelter Magazines

3. Pastries

4. Greek Islands

5. Fresh blooms

WILL'S TOP THREE DESIGN TIPS
1. Be brave with colour, because it's easy to mix things up if you feel like a change
in a few months.  Little splashes of colour, be it through fresh blooms,
comfy textiles or a new vase can really lift a scheme.

2. Good lighting takes a room from good to amazing.  Dimmer switches = the
key to making any lighting work for the good mood of the moment.

3. If you don't like a piece of furniture anymore, then get crafty with it!

Thank You Will! It was so fun to have a guy wander over!

Wander Over Wednesday

                                                                to Emily A. Clark...

and meet Emily a decorator with absolutely fabulous style and girl after my own heart with her great DIY projects.

My dream office looks like...

What I love most about my city: We live in a small town right outside of Charlotte, NC.  I love the close proximity to the city, and we are only 3+ hours from the beach and less than 2 hours from the mountains.  Lots of options!

What do you love most about your day? Being with my kids.  I also like to eat cereal and watch my tivo'd reality shows late at night after they go to bed.

What is your favorite color palette? Currently, I'm stuck on navy & cream, with pops of chartreuse (as you can see from my living room).

When I'm not blogging I am... Chasing babies!  I'm a stay-at-home mom to a 5-, 3-, and 1-year old.

What is your favorite space in your house?  I love my office.  I'm still working on finishing up the room, but I love having a space that's all mine, where I can blog, read, and work on online decorating projects for clients.  Here's a campaign dresser I recently revamped for the space:

What are your 5 favorite things RIGHT now?
1. My family
2. My Church
3. Decorating
4. Mexican Food
5. Singing
( I'm a simple girl :) )

EMILY'S TOP THREE DESIGN TIPS

LESS IS MORE: Put away the little trinkets and think fewer, bigger pieces when accessorizing

BRING ONLY THINGS YOU LOVE INTO YOUR HOME:  Don't get caught in the trap of keeping things you hate, just because you already have them

HANG YOUR WINDOW TREATMENTS HIGH: It's amazing how raising the hight of your curtain panel or shade can make your whole room feel bigger

Thanks Emily!

Wander Over Wednesday

                                                        ... to BluLabel Bungalow

And meet Erika, a woman who is endlessly stylish, and I admire her design talents the very most!

My dream office looks like...
What I love most about my city: My favorite thing about Atlanta is the fact that though it is an international city, it still maintains its southern charm. There's nothing like southern hospitality and I recognize its absence when I am visiting other cities.  There is a endearing warmth about Southerners, it's like you're perfect strangers waiting to be old friends.

What do you love most about your day? I love the fact that I adore my work and can be available to my husband and children whenever they need me. When I worked in the corporate world the pay was great, but I was miserable.  I longed for the day to have the freedom to pursue my bliss.  My husband made that possible for me... bless him. I vowed that I would do whatever I needed to do so I would never have to return to the rat race.

What is your favorite color palette?  This is a hard question! It's like asking me who is my favorite child... I suppose you can never go wrong with layering neutral tones like in these photos.  After a long day of looking at paint and fabric swatches, it's nice to have something subtle to rest your eyes upon.

When I'm not blogging I am... Decorating my own home and clients' homes, running around with my three kids, socializing around and about Atlanta, or spending time with my husband. The list of activities can change on a weekly basis. Sometimes I wonder how I do it all.

What is your favorite space in your house?  My home office.  My library would sound more sophisticated. It's a space I can call my own.  I work there, relax there, and of course watch my neighborhood from the window.  I'm that nosy neighbor you love/hate.

What are your five favorite things RIGHT now?
1. Sweet Tea

2. My Silly Kids

3. ManiPedis

4. Having informal bbqs with my neighbors

5. Hanging out with my Besties.

ERIKA'S THREE GREAT DESIGN TIPS

LOOK AT YOUR HOMES EXTERIOR TO GET IDEAS ON COMPLETING THE INTERIOR
For example, if you life in a cedar wood home, consider using rustic decor elements in your home. Like in the photo below. I love a well thought our design where the exterior of a home flows into the interior.

TRUST YOURSELF
How often have you gone against your initial design inspiration only to return to it after you've spent time and money because you "changed your mind" or someone else told you the didn't like it. And if you really need it, don't be afraid to contact a professional...hint, hint.

ACCEPT THE FACT YOUR NEVER DONE
Often times our tastes changes as we mature. For example, When I graduated from college 10 years ago, I preferred very contemporary furnishings.  My decor consisted of light colored leather, chrome accent tables, and blond woods.  Now my taste is more on the traditional side of contemporary with a rustic mix... well at least for now.  Targeting one style is difficult because i have an appreciation for all design style.  I tend to change up every few years.

Thanks Erika!
