While I have the the utmost respect and complete need for a clean aesthetic overall, I have been seriously drawn to spaces like Kate + Andy Spade's recently. There is just so much to look at, but its all so perfectly styled. The Spade's home is practically overflowing with a mix of artwork, patterns, textures and paint features.

A NORWEGIAN NEST

For us Minnesotans- winter is here! It came swiftly and beautifully on Saturday morning when we woke up to what would become more than a foot of snow! [ the biggest pre-thanksgiving snowstorm in 20 years!]

All the beautiful and peaceful snow got me thinking about somewhere cozy and sweet to curl up with some hot chocolate...

In true scandinavian style, this Norwegian cottage is simple, functional, and organically stunning...

I could just picture cooking up a delicious breakfast that would linger into the afternoon here..

HAPPY CHIC HOME

This week Jonathan Adler debuted his new book, Happy Chic Home. 

To me, he is such an exciting designer - and a wonderful reminder of how brilliant design can be. 

Something I especially love is his way with white...

.. see what I mean!? His textiles, accessories, and decor elements are brimming with gorgeous, deep, and delightful color... but everything else is white. Adler sets the perfect example on how to create a space that feels clean and fresh without it being particularly noticed.

FUR IS FABULOUS

I have been L-O-V-I-N-G faux fur this fall! Since purchasing a Michael Kors faux fur vest in late summer, I patiently waited everyday until the weather got colder to wear it, now... I live in it. I have [faux] fur in the bedroom too. A little fur certainly mixes up your living spaces, and warms them up for the colder months ahead...

I think I could just sleep on that black sheepskin rug, it looks so velvety

HAVE A [yummy] WEEKEND!

It's going to be a beautiful fall weekend here in the north. We might even see our first freeze tomorrow night (yikes!). My family is coming into town and I will be hosting a dinner and a birthday party. After an extremely busy week... I just might be in the kitchen all weekend!

Fall up north always ushers back in the classic styles that Ralph Lauren has made so famous over the years. The crisp lines, perfect attention to detail, and a here and there touches of elegance inspire everything from fashion, to interiors, to the way we entertain...
