A TIFFANY BOX BEDROOM

A client of mine is a recent college grad who is eager to have a stylish place on a tight budget. After she had painted her walls a pretty tiffany blue, and moved in her lovely distressed white/tiffany blue dresser - she felt like she didn't know how to make the room come together the way she had envisioned...

So, I helped her by putting together this board, and went to work. I felt that a "Tiffany's Box" room could quickly turn juvenille with too much bling, so I chose some other "sparkly" accessories that still felt grown up. The glass bubble pendants hanging over each side table give ambiance and glimmer. While these mirrored dressers were way over budget, I found some similar at Home Goods for a fraction of the price. At Ikea we found this bed which is similar to what she was originally looking at. Its clean lines and color make it the perfect base for the already bright room. By adding the white bedding with a hint of aqua, it all ties together. The best part? The mock restoration hardware bedding is actually Fieldcrest for Target!

J'ADORE THE PAINTED FLOOR

This whole room is gorgeous.  The gallery wall, victorian accents, and flower arrangements are discussions of themselves. But. I absolutely NEED a painted floor like that someday...

PINK PRETTINESS

Isn't this room just a girls dream? All the shades of pink, the silk curtains, the mirrored table and subtle patterns around the room? So lovely!

TO THE BEACH (INSPIRATION ALÁ MAC)

What is it about going to the cosmetics department of a nice department store that makes us girls giddy? For me... it was the fresh and dewy summer colors on display yesterday at MAC. Originally, the bright yet lovely corals caught my eye, but then I was drawn to the line of colors they debuted.  The are rich and sumptuous, yet light enough for summer... the perfect colors for creating a sexy, mysterious, and glowing look (for yourself, or in your home...)

These gorgeous silk curtains are like the perfect blush, soft and dewy...

Not too overwhelming, this firecracker pink is like a juicy lipgloss!

sweet and punchy, this green feels inviting and fun...

Turquoise is so lovely in any shade, why not use all of them?

Gabriella Sarlo's living room is just plain sexy, I love the depth the color and height of the curtains give the room!

CHIC AND BRIGHT IN WHITE

Ever since I got rid of my white slipcovers for my sofa cushions, and replaced them with a darker, more pet friendly color... I have missed them so very much. With the summer months ahead, and all the white popping up around the blogosphere... my pining has only grown worse. Its so chic...

so elegant...

so easy and inviting...

and yesterday... I caved!

In the little bit of downtime I had, I ran right out... picked up as much white cotton duck as I could find and got hard to work on a slipcover, I'll share when I'm done!

PRETTY IN (LIGHT) PINK

What is it about pink that makes us swoon? I totally love it, and lately, these subtly pink interiors have been calling my name (maybe because I will never have them). I think they are understated and sweet, but somehow have great presence!

pink appliances? yes, please!

this tiny chandelier somehow looks so perfect...

this trend of super light blue and pink, with white is something I could get used to!

After seeing this picture... I realized that I have this same headboard that I picked up on Craigslist for only $25! (Maybe I should put it to use!)

COLOR IN THE KITCH'

The idea of a painted kitchen. There are so many different feelings that painted cabinets can evoke... and I love all of these different colors, if it weren't for pink being my favorite color, I wouldn't be able to choose at all!

this black is clean and fresh, yet so inviting and warm without feeling like a dungeon.

This is like old hollywood glamour untouched, but strangely updated... very intriguing!

The chandeliers (or interesting lighting choices) in all of these rooms really pull the spaces together.

Whitewashed Perfection

This week came and went in the blink of an eye...
I now can more fully devote myself to my blog and I am SO excited about that.
After all the hardwork these past few weeks... I am ready to just let loose and take it easy. And of course look at lots and lots of blogs... This would be the perfect spot!

A Peak of Purple

There is no wonder that purple is the color of kings, its absolutely fabulous. It all started with this little peak of purple silk curtain against these lovely grey and white striped walls. Its the perfect hint of color, and really, unexpected. I think it is easy to get overwhelmed by the wrong color of purple, but it is also easy to be totally enamored with the right purple. I love these little pops of purple in many different shades in a variety of rooms. Eye catching and conversational for sure.

Orange and Navy: Unexpectedly Classic

Some may feel like Orange and Navy are fall colors, I feel like they are always colors. They combination actually reminds me of a chic east coast beach house, or a easy Miami vacation spot. I think navy and orange with pops of white is unexpected and fresh, with orange giving it that subtle warmth. I'm drooling over this twin bedroom especially...

perfectly unexpected...

rich and luxurious, I could hang out on Kate Walsh's couch all day!

[ via ] casa sugar, shell, I'm not sure where I pulled the twin beds from, do you know?

Golden Yellow

Sorry for the delay today! None the less, I have a beautiful color inspiration to share with you! Golden yellow has really never been a color that has crossed my mind for a room. But after following Emily at Emily A. Clark's bathroom makeover, I am inspired by the color.  As a background, golden yellow is a surprisingly versatile color, and a happy one at that!

Bright and Beautiful

I was so excited when I stumbled across these pictures on Traditional Home, because this house has been in the back of my memory since high school when I had the pleasure of seeing it with my own eyes. Dana Alpeter, a friend and neighbor of my aunt's decorated her renovated 1930's home in chic jewel tones, with contemporary flair. I have often thought of the way this house is so well put together with the menagerie of colors and even how in the dead of a cold Minnesota winter, it would still be warm and inviting!
