ENAMORED WITH ENTRYWAYS

Lately, some great entryways have caught my eye. They are such great spaces to create a vignette that speaks about your home as soon as you open the door... they're also a great place to catch a few everyday items. But, beyond the keys and sunglasses, I love an entryway that's highly styled, and I think these spaces get it right...

There are so many differing elements in this vignette and they all work together flawlessly. The clear glass lamp lets light and space into the area.

The unassuming glamour of this one is perfect. Its clean, but decorated.

Highly Styled - this is what I'm talking about. While there is not room for much else than decor, it really makes a bold and exciting statement!

P.s. Today my dear sweet, lifelong friend Kara has made a post in honor of my engagement. Please pay her a little visit - it will be worth it! Her blog is addicting!

TRENDSPOTTER: WHITE ENTRYWAY TABLES

A great entryway is something I love to see when coming into a home. It gives the person who lives there the instant feeling that they are back into their familiar space, and it gives their guests a first impression. Its a small space that can ooze with style...

Lately, all I seem to notice is gorgeous white entry way tables. They are chic, have a personality of their own, and give a sometimes ill-lighted corner of a home some brightness.

I'm loving this one that belongs to Palmer Weiss. The elephants are to die for!

Enticing Entryways

A great entryway sets the standard for your house. When someone walks in, they get an idea of what kind of home you keep, and it's your first feeling of the relief of being home.  While I am in love with the idea of have a simple, efficient, yet lovely entryway... I am completely lacking the space to create this.

This entryway is one of my all time favorites...

but, all I really need is a sweet little space like this one...

how cool are these navy lacquered walls!?

what do you think about entryways... important?

Take It On Tuesday

This boring walk through entryway has been completely transformed by some bright paint, and great curtains.  An area of our homes that can often be awkward and lacking focus can be transformed into its own space with a design like this one. So, for this very first "Take It On" Tuesday, I am challenging all of you who have been meaning to get around to decorating that entryway of yours to do so!

Here's the inspiration:
Here's what you could do...
I think warming up the yellow would still be bold, yet slightly more inviting. While I'm all for color, extreme brights are colors that are changed most by people. Choosing colors slightly more muted have longer lasting effects.  Instead of bordering the yellow with black, try the royal blue to complement the patterns! By using a great pattern in two spaces in the room, it draws the eye around, rather than to only certain focus points (remember, were creating a room out of a passageway) Finally, bring the yellow into the room with a less busy pillow in the same tone. Bright stripes always remind me of summer, thats why I chose this great pillow for the chair (which will be functional in this space, we all need a place to remove shoes comfortably!)

...and because I love it, I would add this great little table to put keys and flowers on!
